Steve Hiller is Director of Planning and Assessment at the University of Washington Libraries. He has been active in library assessment for nearly 20 years, presenting and publishing widely on a number of assessment-related topics during that period. His current areas of interest are in user needs assessment, organizational performance metrics, and developing organizational capacity for assessment.

Martha Kyrillidou is Senior Director for ARL Statistics and Service Quality Programs at the Association of Research Libraries since 1994 where she established the StatsQUAL® suite of services including assessment protocols like LibQUAL+®, MINES for Libraries®, ClimateQUAL® and ARL Statistics®. She has advocated 'Effective, Sustainable and Practical Assessment' for libraries through presentations and writings. Martha has a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, MLS and MEd from Kent State University, and an undergraduate degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece.

Jim Self is director of Management Information Services at the University of Virginia Library. He previously served as Director of the Clemons Library at the University of Virginia and as head of the Undergraduate Library at Indiana University. Jim has conducted many presentations and workshops on assessment, statistics, surveys, and usability testing.
